The belief in lifelong learning is the core of Buford Presbyterian’s adult education programs. Sunday School Classes for Adults meet from 9:45-10:45 AM each Sunday. Current classes include four different Bible Study classes (Kerygma, Bible Discovery, and Bible Studies led by Pastor Corey and Pastor Carrie). A Parent’s Class discusses current issues and topics of shared interests for families.
A New Members Class meets every quarter for three weeks. This class allows visitors or those new to the church to learn about the Presbyterian Church in general and Buford Presbyterian specifically. This class serves as a vehicle by which those interested may join the church.
The Kerygma Class is a discussion format, teacher led, adult oriented Sunday School class that focuses primarily on Bible study and its life applications.
Who has ever visited a large American city, like New York, Boston or Chicago, and taken one of the tour buses where you can get on and off wherever you like? The Kerygma class is somewhat like that. We're taking a tour of Church history , but don't follow a strict schedule and we often take detours and slow down when we need to spend more time.
Who is the class for?
All adults who are interested in learning more about Church history and the Bible and how its teachings influence our lives and faith are welcome to attend and participate. It's important to note that regardless of prior knowledge and experience studying the Bible, participants will find something of value. We make no assumptions about what you know or believe about the Bible, and we also honor your deeply held beliefs and faith. The class is ideal and will be informative and inspiring if you:
- are single or attached,
- are younger or older,
- have children or not,
- have been a Christian your whole life, became a Christian recently, or are exploring what it means to become a Christian,
- or simply want a place to hang out while your children are in Sunday School.
Where and when?
The Kerygma class meets in the old fellowship hall (across the hall from the nursery rooms, next to the coffee station). Class times are from 9:45a - 10:30a on Sundays between the two worship services.
